The Nuo pendant, designed by Kenyon Yeh, is a lighting fixture that seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with innovative materials. Inspired by the beauty and functionality of rattan and banana tree stems, this pendant showcases the unique allure of handmade objects.

What sets the Nuo pendant apart is its use of environmentally friendly materials. The base of the pendant is made from rattan strips, while the stem is crafted from banana tree stems. These materials are not only sustainable but also possess remarkable strength and flexibility.

The process of creating the Nuo pendant involves skilled craftsmanship. The outer and inner base curves of the pendant require meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a finished product of high artistic merit. The natural color of the rattan further enhances the pendant's beauty and simplicity.

Handmade rattan weaving, a steel structure, and a fabric cable are the key elements of the Nuo pendant's realization technology. The large pendant measures 37 inches in diameter and 49 inches in height, while the small pendant measures 35 inches in diameter and 29 inches in height.

When interacting with the Nuo pendant, one can feel the softness and elasticity of the rattan surface. The ambient shadows created by the pendant bring a calm and warm atmosphere to any space. Its natural color adds to its appeal, making it suitable for public spaces such as bars, hotels, or restaurants. The Nuo pendant can be installed individually or grouped together in sets of 3-4.

The Nuo pendant was developed and made in Indonesia over a three-week period. The designer, Kenyon Yeh, aimed to deliver a unique experience by combining traditional handmade rattan objects with a modern design aesthetic. The result is a pendant that embodies the value and beauty of handmade craftsmanship.

Recognized for its outstanding expertise and innovation, the Nuo pendant was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2012 in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category. This prestigious award celebrates designs that showcase remarkable excellence, technical prowess, and artistic skill.
